How God Woos the Simple Soul and Makes It Wise in His Love
Thus God woos the simple soul and makes it wise in his love:
Oh precious dove,
Your feet are red,
Your feathers smooth,
Your mouth well-formed,
Your eyes beautiful,
Your head noble, Your movements delightful, Your flight is swift and
bold,
Too soon you return to earth.
How
God comes to the soul
I descend on my love
As dew on a flower.
God
speaks to the soul
And God said to the soul:
I desired you before the world began.
I desire you now
As you desire me.
And where the desires of two come together there love is perfected.
