Photography has been an important part of my life since 1985 when I purchased a 35 mm SLR camera. I was preparing for a three week trip to Nigeria as part of a U. S. Information Agency project. Foolishly I took only five rolls of film with me and didn't use the camera enough before I left to understand how it worked. In contrast, when I spent a similar length of time on a honeymoon in 2000, I exposed more than 35 rolls of film. Clearly I had learned a lot about photography in the 15 years between the two. I now shoot digital exclusively and have begun to use a digital video recorder. I also now use a scanner to capture many of those earlier 35 mm images.
