For the final ten years of my professional career, I served as Director of Pastoral Planning for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester NY. During that time I was able to bring my previous administrative experience and education to bear on the Church. In the process I learned much more about the Church and deepened my own spiritual life. I have tried to capture both the spirit and the techniques of this special kind of planning in a book recently published by Ave Maria Press: A Concise Guide to Pastoral Planning.
