Gethsemane Prayers

Gethsemane Abbey I wrote or copied these prayers during a four week retreat at the Abbey of Gethsemane from September 15 through October 12,1996. I spent the preceding week camping by myself in the Colorado Rockies. I took the pictures which accompany the prayers during that camping trip or during the retreat with two exceptions. The picture accompanying Death was taken in Rochester New York in April 1996 and the one accompanying "What killed Christ?" Was taken in northern Virginia in May 1996.

The prayers and the pictures express my deepest thoughts and reflections during my time alone. The quiet of the mountains and especially the silence and solitude of the monastery led me into my own depths in a profound way.
